S & J got married in their native Dublin and then trekked down the road to their reception at Hotel Kilkenny. They stopped for a few moments at Kilkenny Castle for some formal photographs. When I say ‘formal photographs’ I mean trying to keep order with crazy bridesmaids as they were swamped by Chinese tourists looking for selfies. Naturally we couldnt send the tourists home empty handed but I’d say they wont forget approaching an Irish bridal party…….Â
It turns out that the groom is a teacher at my previous school so this wedding had an added buzz for me, I saw a few old faces (not too old) which brought it all back and loved every minute of a fairly hectic wedding day. The bride and groom themselves seemed to adopt an ‘it’ll be grand’ approach to the day and it paid off. They didn’t seem stressed apart from the walk up the aisle and enjoyed the day, more importantly they enjoyed their guests. The wedding cake, which was understated and classy was made by a family member and I managed to resist sticking my face in it, somehow (it wasn’t easy). To the bride and groom, thank you for having me photograph your big day. You guys were great fun and a pleasure to work with. To Keith Malone (Wedding Videographer) it was an easy process working with you, no stress, just good fun and to SC and ML, the connection to school was extra special, loved seeing you there and hope to meet you again soon.
