I have photographed a few Irish / English Weddings in the past, they always seem to be very enjoyable days. I think its a mix of our English friends getting away for the weekend which helps the party develop somewhat. In this case the guests were dancing 0utside an hour before call to meal, something I’ve never seen before. You could say it was the weather, the fact that England were playing in a very important World Cup game or because the excellent music was provided by the talented Laura Colgan (Link Below), whatever it was it was infectious and the day continued as it began.
I’m fairly sure that if we asked the Bride and Groom to jump into the sea for photos there wouldn’t have been a second thought. Susan and Mark gave it everything, nothing was too much for them and they were a pleasure to work with. As such, it made the photographs that bit easier and we returned Bride, Groom and Bridal Party to the drinks reception (and England Match) early. The family pictures were a different story but thats because people were dancing and singing (well done Laura). What I didnt know about the Conyngham Arms Hotel, Slane is that when you have a wedding there the entire venue becomes yours. This makes a huge difference with a real private manor house feel to the wedding.
There were tears on this big day, tears of joy and tears of sadness with key people missing from the day. They were remembered though, at every important point of the day. After some speeches, where we didn’t know what the best man was going to say the Lols started playing the classics with a lively dancefloor the result. Enjoy the images below which are just a sneak peek of the day. To Susan & Mark, thats the way to enjoy your wedding day. You just committed to it, smiled (sometimes awkwardly Mark) and enjoyed everything, it was a pleasure!
PS: As the English fans celebrate in the photographs below, you will see a gentleman outside (top right of image). He’s from Kerry!
